Based on a script by famed sci-fi writer Ray Bradbury, this tale of an amateur astronomer and a schoolteacher who discover a mysterious meteorite crash in the Arizona desert set the stage for a cascade of imitators. Predating Jack Finney's The Body Snatchers novel by a year, this prototypical extraterrestrial/Cold War paranoia thriller not only cemented its director Jack Arnold as a force to be reckoned with, but also influenced a generation of young filmmakers such as John Carpenter and Joe Dante. Founder & President of the 3-D Film Archive Bob Furmanek in person! Presented in 3D DCP.
