Erik Hylko is from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to a church organist and a nuclear engineer. Worried the lights of Hollywood would be too bright, they moved to the famous Quilting Capital of the World, Paducah, Kentucky, when he was 1 year old to avoid any possibility of him becoming an actor. A lover of sports, Erik was a deadly athlete/math-lete combo before retiring and turning his attention to film and community theatre. Attending Belmont University in Nashville, "Music City" Tennessee, he studied acting and devoted time to his craft, music production, sports writing, and selling popsicles from the famous Las Paletas. His biggest regret in life up til now is missing Harry Styles not once, but twice, as he popped into the shop on both his tours after Erik had left for the day.
He has studied at the National Theatre Institute in Waterford, Connecticut, working with esteemed actors and directors such as Richard Digby-Day and Forrest McClendon. He fulfilled a dream of studying abroad at the London Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, focusing on Classical Texts. Since living in Chicago, he has maintained a fervent love of sports (Go Cubs Go!), has found work on camera, on stage, and is patiently waiting for his chance to deliver a popsicle to Harry Styles (third time's the charm).
