Sarah Falkiner

Sarah Falkiner is a Chicago based filmmaker, director, producer and founder of Shytown Sugar Films. She has directed more than a dozen independent short films, including the documentary Wrestle Indie Park, which received DCASE funding for postproduction, and recently produced the independent feature Evil Usher. Selected as one of 100 filmmakers for the Tyler Perry Dream Collective, Sarah brings 20 years of experience as a Chicago Public Schools educator to her storytelling. She is currently producing 2099: Race to Dystopia, an ambitious, multidisciplinary immersive arts experience bringing together Chicago filmmakers, visual artists, fashion designers and performers. Her work explores identity, community and the human experience, with an emphasis on collaboration and creating space for meaningful conversations.
